The Distinguished Service Awards Banquet was held on March 20th in front of a great crowd of over fifty people. Mayor Leonard gave an uplifting speech that really set the tone for the entire night. Miss Thomasville, Ashlynn Whitesell entertained by song and Jennifer Rudisill did a flawless job as the night’s master of ceremony. Brooks Nash received the Distinguished Service Award. Angela Guy received the Outstanding Young Educator Award. Kevin Sink won the Outstanding Young Public Service Award. Buddy Griffie received the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award and Brittany Yates took home the Outstanding Teenager Award. The Jaycees would like to thank each of these recipients for their hard work and commitment to making this a better community to live in. y fellow Jaycees, we are quickly coming to the end of the first Trimester of this Jaycee year. As you can see by the upcoming schedule, the month of April will be a very busy month for us. Also, as you know we are competing this year in the Parade of Excellence against other Jaycee chapters from around the state. The Parade of Excellence gives us the opportunity to interact with other Jaycee chapters and build team unity through competition. To do well in this competition it will take some hard work, something that we are well accustomed to. Also to do well it will mean attending several state and regional functions. We are well on our way to a great start to this year in this competition and as a local club whose job is to serve our community. We know how great our club is now let’s show the rest of the state how good we are. Full Speed Ahead!
