New Officers Installed!

Installation Banquet

Roughly seventy-five people were in attendance to witness the Installation of Officers to the Thomasville and Chair City Jaycees. The banquet, which took place on January 11^th was chaired by outgoing President Paxton Arthurs who took home the Brown Finch Award and the Past Presidents Award. Others recognized by the Thomasville Jaycees were Mike Everhart for project chairman of the year, John Autry was awarded Key Person of the Year, Phil Younts won Officer of the year and Jonathan Trivette won the awards for Project of the Year and also Rookie of the Year. Congratulations to all.

Super Bowl Party

This years Super Bowl Party was a huge success! Approximately thirty Jaycees and friends gathered to watch football, eat snacks and have fun. It was a great family event and fun was had by all, even though the game got a little lopsided. Special thanks goes to project chairman Jerry Hughes for putting the event together and hosting the party at his house.

Thomasville Tourism Awards Ceremony

The Thomasville Jaycees were in full force for the Second Annual Tourism Awards Ceremony held at 12 West Main. The Jaycees congratulate Victoria Livengood and Sue Hunter for their success in promoting Thomasville through the work that they do. The Jaycees were proud to be a part of festivities by sponsoring the plaques that were presented.

Presidents Message

e are one month into a great year for the Thomasville Jaycees! There are a lot of things to look forward to in the coming months. I am currently planning a ski trip to Snowshoe, WV so you don’t want to miss that. John Autry is lining up some visitations to other chapters so we can get to know our neighbors. And best of all, the Board has approved a membership plan that gives spouses of members a half price discount on dues. So if your spouse wants to join, now is the time. We are making a commitment to family this year and this goes a long way toward that goal. At this Thursday’s meeting we will be planning a trip to a church in our community, so please plan to be in attendance. I will also be giving away a door prize at every meeting this year, so if you feel lucky. Keep up the good work and full speed ahead!
